Flake and Smee,
Crossposting sucks, it really does.
Get some scissors, trim your quotes.
You're welcome here but pay some heed.
Thanks,Rich

I have been responding to all AVFFF Xposts direct to them asking them to

Sorry AAVFFF, I think it's unanimous by the ABG regulars. Please no
Xposts, and only post original text, quoting limited supporting text
from the original posts.

Not quite good enough. You can still be traced via the Message ID (if
someone were to cross check these). There's probably more devilish

No, it was aimed at people that post here in the graveyard that
have large sigs and do not trim posts. Funny you would post on
this thread with exactly what the regulars are complaining about
- a large sig. We don't care what you post in the other group!

Hmmmm. The message ID seems to change per thread. This one is

6l8m9f$9...@sjx-ixn4.ix.netcom.com

Another one is:

6krpa2$i...@sjx-ixn10.ix.netcom.com

I think the sjx-ixn10, sjx-ixn4 is the machine I dialed in on, and the
6krpa2, maybe my unique message ID assigned by the machine? It changes
per post. Perhaps Dave with that happy pig sig knows what it means
(he is wise in the ways of these...things).

There is the posting host - NNTP-Posting-Host: phi-pa14-03.ix.netcom.com
The Phi-pa might give it away that it was Philadelphia, PA. But I could
just
go and dial in from another location, bite the long distance call cost, and
it would appear that I'm from Mississippi. I think one could probably guess
it was me, but there is no real way to be sure by looking at the headers.
Do you even know that Liz is my real name? (buh-wha-hahaha!)

We should take that as a threat! I SHOULD be able to say anything
in this group, as I have been here for years. Why don't you post
your large sigs and run-on posts in a group that doesn't mind
it, like AAVFFF? It's amazing that you people aren't even

I think we're talking about two completely different things here.

I first met you folks a few weeks ago in some threads that were
cross-posted to many, many NGs. That was just about the time I joined the
merry flonkers, and I had no idea who you were or who was posting from
where. I doubt very much that Smee was responsible for starting that.

More recently, a couple of threads have been cross-posted between just the
two groups. Smee might have had a hand in that. I thought we were having
fun. You asked us to stop, and we did.

When I stopped seeing anything from abg in aavfff, I came over to see what
was up. I thought we might have some fun on your turf and on your terms. It
appears not, so I'll be on my way now.

A word of warning (not a threat) before I unsubscribe from abg: Lighten up,
or you're liable to start a war that you don't want. And I *don't* mean a
war between abg and aavfff. I mean, as Rocky I think meant earlier, that
there are others "in the neighbourhood" who would take some of your recent
posts as an invitation to flood your ng to the eyeballs with stuff you
don't want to see.

Let's just take it easy. From the little I'm able to read (between
the integral quoting of 20 articles and the 45 line sigs) they seem
to be just a bunch of kids, not having particularly bad intentions.
If we can just be patient, they'll tire of ABG soon enough.

I'm happy to hear you can wriggle your ears. I've been trying to
learn that trick for the past 5 years, and still haven't managed.

Wrong. We just want you to respect our conventions when you do post
here. I did some crossposting with some *very* specific messages.
These died out which is all OK. But when another group continues to
crosspost material which is not relevant to the other, that is a
problem.

I think it was the pair of us. I know I corssposted some stuff about
the 'war' to AAVF3 so you could see it. I have nothing against the
'war' crossposts as all that was harmless fun.

Yeah, some began to move off from the war an discuss parties etc. These
really should have stayed in AAVFFF.

It's not even *our* conventions. It's something called Netiquette.
There are quite precise conventions concerning crossposting,
quoting, the length of a signature (and preceding your sig with 2
hyphens and a space so that it can be deleted automatically when
someone replies to your posting).

Well, if they tire or not, I don't like the threats. It's annoying.
The only reason I mentioned that Smee and others started the x-posts
was because I don't believe there is a evil lurker that's just
waiting for a chance to flame and fill the group. If it happens,
it will probably be the people that are already posting in this group.
It would be pretty sad and disappointing. It's like you invite friends
over to your house and they spill grape juice on the couch. You ask
them to behave better, and they threaten to write all over the walls.
Annoying.

You either can do it, or can't. It's like flaring your nose, putting
your tounge on one side or rolling it into a cylinder. Totally
hereditery.

I can roll my tongue in a cylinder. It's something I'm extremely
proud of. Especially since my colleague at work can't. And I've told
him that being unable to do so for a man is sure sign that you're
actually impotent.

It's nonsense of course, but ever since I've told him that I know it
worries him that he's not able to do it.

So dopes mine, and quite concisely too.

There is something very stange about el rocko's posts. Apart from the
