Here on the east side of Cincinnati we are lucky enough to have WOBO
88.7 (Batavia, Ohio.) They have a 4-hour bluegrass show darn near
everyday, and one on thursday night. Oh, how lucky we are! My favorite
show is the saturday morning Bluegrass Showcase w/Chris Kelly. He
rules.

There is another saturday morning show on another station (WAIF 88.3)
but I rarely listen to it... while they play pretty good music, they
get too carried away in their chattering... WOBO plays a lot more
music.

WNKU (89.7 - Northern Kentucky University) might have a show but I'm
not too sure.

In Northwest Ohio, the only bluegrass on the ariwaves that I'm aware of
is the Arkansas Traveler show on WDET-FM, Detroit's Public Radio
Station. It plays from 3 to 6 PM on Saturday afternoons.

If you can pick it up, CJOM in Windsor (right across from Detroit) hosts
"Daybreak in Dixie" every Sunday morning.

Bluegrass radio every Saturday morning from 9am-1pm EST. WWUH 91.3 FM in
Hartford, CT- hosted by Kevin Lynch. Great show. You can listen to it on the
web:

Bill, you are fortunate in your area to have stations that program good
bluegrass music. For over 20 years in the Buffalo, NY area, we had a good
bluegrass program. Last year it was canceled. Now the station only programs
jazz and blues for it music portion (except for Fiona Ritchie's "Thistle and
Shamrock" program that survived the changes). To me, it is sad that a
metropolitan NPR station chooses to ignore the ingenious American musical art
form that we know as bluegrass. I miss it because I was nourished by some
mighty good banjo picking on that former three hour Sunday night bluegrass
show, hosted by Randy Keller, who is also a good picker and harmonica player.

Tucson Arizona is lucky enough to have KXCI 91.3 (www.kxci.org) with a
2 hour show on saturday and sunday. I try to schedule my lessons after
the show ends. It helps me play better I'm sure.

Not to mention the annual Tucson Folk Festival this weekend.

One of the coolest things about living in Bozeman is the 5 hours of
bluegrass on the local PBS station every Saturday morning from 7 to
noon. They follow the bluegrass show with another 4 hours of trad
country stuff. It's been this way for years.
