There were a lot of different Windsor models, and the company also made
banjos in the traditional American form, which they called Regular
banjos. They made a lot of different models of these, too.
Windsor, like other makers, also made their banjos in several
varieties... 5-string, plectrum, tenor, mandolin banjo, guitar banjo,
etc. Any of these types could be ordered in any of their model series.
Which is the long way of saying "don't know what it's worth." A lot of
it's value depends on model, type of banjo, condition, age, and other
factors. Zither banjos aren't as well known as other designs, so I
suspect the market worth is inherently a little less, just due to modern
players general ignorance of zithers. However, the English market may be
much better, because the zithers were very popular there, and they are
better known there.
As with any old instrument, the true worth is what you get for a serious
offer, period. Any other estimate depends entirely on speculation, and
only a few of the best vintage dealers and repairmen can give you a
reliable appraisal on it's worth. Anything else is probably hype or
counterhype (as is most of Antiques Roadshow).
