Is anyone out there aware of the availabilty of tabs for Roscoe Holcomb,
particularly for Trouble In Mind (not a clawhammer song, I know)? The cd
has all the tunings, but this normally fast learner is finding that's
only half the battle on his songs - the guy's got some crazy-pants
timing! TIA!
Lala
The only tabs I have ever seen of Roscoe are "Hills of Mexico" in Art
Rosenbaum's Oak book, "Old Time Mountain Banjo" or something like that
and "On Top of Old Smokey" , transcribed by Jody Stecher was published
an issue or two back in the Old Time Herald. Check out their web site

Old time Herald is a great little magazine; highly recommended by me.

You know what to do...
Hi Lala
Is that "Trouble in Mind" or Trouble in My mind"???
I know a song "Trouble in My Mind" that goes
Once I had a big banjo
And it was strung with twine
The only song that I could play was
Trouble in my mind.
Trouble in my mind, boys,
Trouble in my mind
Trouble, trouble,
Trouble in my mind,
If trouble dont kill me
I'll live a long time
Live a long time' boys'
Live a long time.
Which is definitly a "frailing" song.
Yours Paul
