I don't know if I believe Rodney Dangerfield...
If Letterman wore a piece I figure he would pick something that covered more
scalp.

But I am absolutely sure about Robert Deniro. I saw a picture of him before
without a piece. He was bald. Look how he styles his hair when going on a
talk show. It is combed forward over the hairline. Look at different
movies, and watch how the shape of his hairline changes and moves with the
different pieces and different styles. I'm sure someone can corroborate and
back me up on this. I wish I could dig up that picture of him without a
piece.

Robert D. has worn hairpieces-- and has gained and lost weight for
various movie roles (Raging Bull, The Untouchables, etc.). If you have
seen him with a shaved head, partially balding, etc. it was the result
of a movie role. He is well known for going to extremes to get into
character.

Tommy lee Jones has been known to do this as well. His real hair is what
you see in a movie like "The Fugitive" He sports a mostly shaven head in
"Cobb". In fact, he went to the Academy awards a few years ago with this
chrome dome while filming.

I'm pretty sure Paul Reiser sports a rug. Chuck Norris, too. Walter
Koneig. Don Knots. Chuck Heston. Jack Lemmon. Richard Burton when alive.
Ditto Liberache. I wonder about Pete Roses' hair. Kevin Dobson. Jack
Lord. Mike Connors. Jack Lord. Deforest Kelley was rumored to wear one.
Howie Mandel. I sometimes wonder about Howard Stern, but that's a tough
call. Mike Douglas. David Spade-- his hair was really thin a few years
ago, now its pretty full-- might be a transplant.

A more interesting question might be which celebrities, or actors in
particular, choose not to disguise their MPB, ie., haven't had grafts
and generally don't wear hairpieces? Seems like a depressingly small
group. It shows you how deep-seated the negative image of MPB must be
in the American public, that so few actors are willing to live with
it:

Bruce Willis (or did he have grafts?)
Kevin Costner
Jeremy Irons

Any more?

I have learned from very reliable sources that the following celebrities
wear hairpieces:

Tom Cruise
Leonardo Dicaprio
Alec Baldwin
Kurt Russell
George Clooney

Robert Deniro does not wear a hairpiece. Get a clue.

Not that I would ever consider getting transplants, but I think if your not
greed with it and just get enough to suit your hairloss it would look alot
better. Jack Nicholson definitelty as done some maintenance on his hair, he
had only slightly more in the movie one flew over the cookoo's nest. Some
people try to replace there bangs and then loose it all behind. We all have a
slight idea of our own mpb hairloss in most cases. I do believe there will be
many improvements in the future in the field but like many people state out if
these actors with money cant come out with a decent job done it seems like
there is little to no chance of the middle class person obtaining such results.
On another note be thankful for what we have now with finasteride{easily
obtainable at 15$ a month despite the release of propecia}. This is a small
cost and it does have a beneficial effect on mpb.

Listen, dumbshit, if you look through the correct series of his movies, you
can see the recession in Robert DeNiro's hairline progress. At some point
he starts wearing pieces for all his roles. The exception to that is his
role as Al Capone in The Untouchables. Now if you're not too fucking stupid
to realize, he would have no incentive to thin his hair out in this manner
for such a role. If you're not convinced after this, go dig through your
newspapers at your library, and try to find an old USA today. In the paper
there is an article about the Tribeca series he produced for some network a
while back. In this picture they show him sans hat and sans piece.
Now if you still want to play retarded, go rent Maddog and Glory, then talk
with one of those posters on here who explain "how to spot a toupee".

I can't believe I wasted my time answering your ignorance. When I get
around to it, I'll do a search on the internet, and try to point you in the
direction of some photos.

Well, might he not have had the incentive to make his hair LOOK LIKE THE REAL
AL CAPONE'S???

Or just rent Frankenstein or any movie where he has a shaved head. I think he
had pretty short hair in the movie Awakenings.

dollar film salary for which stars will gain or loose weight, shave, thin, or

I doubt that one;

on a more positive (although jealous) note, what about Robert Redford.
How is that this guy (who must be late 50's or more) has hair like I did
when I was 12? I mean, blonde hair that could cover his eyes if he
didn't comb it. luck of the draw I guess.

Greetings,

Redford has had a HT.
Other celebrities that have had one are Meg Ryan,
Christie Brinkley and Lassie (really a male dog with CPB,
Canine Pattern Baldness)
It is rumored that that annoying punk from 'Home Alone' had
one at age 13. Having a HT at such a young age is not
recommended but HT surgeons will generally tell anyone anywhere
anything they want to hear so they can sell their 'services' to
them. Once accomplishing this they have their paranoid clients 'hooked'
for life.

It seems to me that the further one goes from Hollywood, with its
unrealistic emphasis on youth, the less scared famous people are to show a bit
of scalp.

New York based celebrities seem a bit more down to earth in this respect.
Woody Allen is a good example as is almost any name in the literature or
theatre scene.

British celebrities not based in Tinseltown also feel less of a need to wear
rugs when not playing a role (e.g.,the late Lawrence Olivier, Sting, Sean
Connery, Ben Kingsley).

Agreed, but he had them done in the late 70s, early 80s, they showed
an interview (on Time And Again) just a few weeks ago where he talks
about having the transplant and 'having to water them' .

One of the drawbacks of being one of the first to have something like
that done.

For the Celebrity list: Steven Tyler (Areosmith) has EXTENSIVE weaves.
