Dr Angela Christiano made an interesting comment on the bald truth show 2
weeks ago. She said they have been experimenting with natural compounds in
her lab on mice and to quote her:

"We found that topical use of Saw Palmetto together with GLA can basically
double the growth rate of the anagen phase"

This is really interesting since its the first time to my knowledge that Saw
Palmetto and GLA have been put through hair growth studies in a lab. Her
paper has not been published yet, but it should be really interesting.

There was a story about Dr. Christiano's findings about a year ago.The
interesting thing is that she stated that her method would probably used for
removing unwanted body hair first.I have patent pending status on using a
solution based on saw p. extract.Ernie

Ernie,

Now all you need is some grey matter between your ears. Read the old posts on
this matter. Repeat as necessary.

Er, the patent office regularly rejects applications for the use
of even novel topical antiandrogens ( SP is not ) for hair loss on the basis
of "obviousness" and "prior art". Not that you can't include them as a
suppliment to something else that is patentable. Been there done that....

Do you know if she is also doing studies on oral saw palmetto, I was on
it for 6 months, didnt help my hair loss at all, I'm wondering if I
should jump back on it. even though i started propecia.

I quote "the first likely application of Dr Christiano's research may come
not from treating hair loss. But causing it.Because the hairless gene mutation
causes affected people to lose their hair,it would be an ideal cosmetic
therapy for hair removal if it could be made to work locally."I got this from
a yahoo hair loss story. It is titled Gene Therapy Research for Hair Loss
Progresses. It was on the same site as "new study shows DHT. genes don't cause
baldness." I sent Dr.C info on my findings but received no reply.Ernie

The appl.is for use of a solution based on SawP.as a hair grow th

ernie,

you're talking about two completely different things, mustafa! farrel's
post refers to christiano's research with topical sp and gla to double
hair growth in the anagen phase; the article you quoted refers to gene
therapy for removal of unwanted hair. is this the best argument you can
come up with to back your silly assertion that dht has nothing to do
with hairloss? you seem to have employed the doctorsp approach to
research.

Although the similarities between the two are amazing

1. They both refute the role of DHT in MPB.
2. They both refer to the same study which does not say this to try and
prove their case.
3. They both seem to be unaffected by the number of people who ridicule
them
4. They both sell their own products and have no proof to back them up.
5. They both make definitive statements about hairloss when neither of them
has any formal training in the field.
6. They both cant stand me ;-)

As to who is more intelligent I think its a tie. Although Dr Spamcorp does
seem to know about superconductors, the pure idiotic statements that he
makes about hair cancels them out.

But as I have suggested in the past, they should form an alliance called
S.P.A.M.
