Spurred on by the FINE work going on over at Master Teem's website,
I, Frankly, have delved back into the PHP, picking up just about
where I left off last February (which, as you may or may not know,
has been the shortest month of the entire year so far.)
AND, I have made dang good progress... except for one tiny matter.
Screen Resolution.
I remember the days when 800 by 600 was the clam's trenchcoat, so
purty, so detailed, so FINE!
Well, those days are no more. Gone. Kaput. Fizzle Fazzled.
Phhhtttt. Surfing at 800 x 600 is now a miserable experience, and I
can't, in bad.clam faith, recommend it for anyone, friend or foe,
near or dear.
More importantly, it seems, I cannot even design for such piddling
numbers these days. I YAM sorry, but if you can't muster AT LEAST
1024 x 768, just don't come 'round, k?
And now, my desktoppy icons are all messed up from messing with
lower resolutions. I'll prolly never be able to straighten them
out.
These are the times that call for our weekly sermon.
Frankly (as in Just a couple dozen more tweaks... [:)
...random snippifications as required by whim...

Ah Shucks. I ain't hardly started. In fact, I don't think I've even
bragged it up in here yet, as I was planning a sort of something which I
haven't quite formulated yet (although I AM making the parts of it in
heaps and stacks as well as fits and starts, but never stits and ...hey,
wait a minute. I was just setting myself up there. Phwew, that was
close!). So, basically, I was planning on planning something. 'k?

Thank Pish'!

Why, you great bloody, bollocksy, bohstidful snob! How DARE you
impudiate the lesser-resolved masses? Why, I wish I was in the room with
you right now. Why, I'd box your snobby ears so hard you'd look just
like Picasso's portrait of you. The very audacity!
There are sites (ahem, ahem) that cater to ALL resolutions. Why SOME,
the really good ones, (ahem, ahem, ahem) actually read your resolution
before your arrive (although they can do nothing, alas, about your
reservations.) and direct you to a size-appropriate welcoming page.

Ekchewally, old clam, I can help you out in this instance, even
though , as the Fronch might say, "Tu petes plus haut que ton cul."
There is a program out there called ClearDesk. It hides your icons so
your desktop can be viewed in all its glory and splenditude.
I have just finished testing it out on your very problem. I hid my
icons, changed resolution, accepted the changes, changed back, and unhid
my icons. They were just fine except that they were now in the upper
left 800x600 of my screen, all in order and everything, just needed to
be stretched out again. ...you're welcome.

And they will for the next four years if you don't let your inner
clam vote for you in November. I think every Americlam should get out
and vote. Write in 'Oprah' on the ballot put a check mark beside it.
THEN you'll see a softer, cuddlier America. (with a wardrobe full of
clothes in every size.)
And that's my opinion du jour.
G'night clams.

PHP I'm using comes in a can. Fernakie is using only PHP freshly grown
in his own Petrie dishes. `(:)
