I like everything about Pan as a newsreader with the one exception of
this 'empty group' thing.

And, yes, the expiry date is at maximum - I might just have to start
hacking . . . oh, joy . . .

Is your "empty group" thing really due to Pan ... or due to the/your
news server only keeping messages for a smaller time??
