Are they the cowboy type? Nah, they would have ridden in the wagons with
the ladies, the profiteers and similar characters of the Old West. I
would venture they are rather boring, short, fat and having complexes.

differentiates minivan owners and SUV owners, since they are
so demographically similar. They did market research (which
is extremely watered-down sociology, so take it with a grain
of salt), and the _New_York_Times_ did a story on the info
that was made public:

vehicle to make themselves feel powerful. Just like the gun nuts.
