Good luck finding performance parts for a car with a 1.3 liter engine with
only 53 horsepower. You are wasting your time. Besides would you want to get
into a wreck with the smallest car Toyota ever imported in to the US?

They were a very popular Rally and race car in there day! With Horse-power
figures easily up around the 140hp mark
the power to weight ratio made them an absolute missile!
Most of the mods I have seen to this model (KP60/1) have involved a pair of
45 Webers and some head and camshaft changes.

Did you ever see what TRD did to those cars? Damn those things were fast!!!
Just because it's small doesn't mean that it won't go fast. It's light weight
can be used to it's advantage!

I was told that Toyota designed the Starlet to fit a particular niche
in racing car classes. Consequently, the rally/racing car qualities
were design criteria! Whereas, marketing segment research was ignored
and subseqently there was no market for this car and it was
discontinued.
