I can't find any reputable source which says that the new recommendation
(age 50) came from an Obama political appointee. All news sources including
Faux say the recommendation came from a group of medical professionals. Show
your source. Maybe your source contains the real story.
What is the name of the political appointee dbu is referring to?
In other words, you lied in your original message.
What IS important is this is a precursor to what will happen if BO and the
Dims in Congress are allowed to take over our healthcare.
Guys like you, Joe$#itForBrains, should be concerned that the bill before
the Senate which will take $400,000,000 OUT of Medicare, and add Trillions
to the nation debt within fifteen years, according to reports in the media.
You like the NY times, READ todays front page for the facts, WBMS. LOL
Perhaps if you do you will educate yourself and we can stop calling you

Never mind. Disregard this post. It references Fox News, and everyone
knows they'll do anything they can to stop Obama's Health Care Train.
Who cares if there wasn't a single Oncologist on the board? They have
statisticians!

Which "media" have focused on the lack of an oncologist? Give me an example.

When the age was lowered from 50 to 40 in 2002, what comments were you
posting about that in newsgroups?
Actually, it's called epidemiology, not statistics, for subjects like this.
The actual point here is that dumberthanu (aka "dbu") thinks the person who
made the announcement also did the research to back up the announcement. Of
course, that's just plain silly, but what else should we expect from a boy
who does not read and is proud of that?
Um, you're the one that used the word statistician...
Ah yes, but take a close look at the members of the group who came up with
the recent recommendation. :-)
Are you going to take a look?
Which political appointeee are you're referring to? Once we have that
information, we can more accurately discuss this issue.
Besides, Smoke enemas were a popular remedy in the !800's, which should make
Dooby comfortable, ensconced in the "Good Old Days".
Someone using the name "dbu'" began this thread by saying the following:
Subject line: Former NIH Chief: Ignore Gov Mammography Recommendation
Within the message:
"This is recommendation from a REAL Dr. of medicine NOT an obama
political mouthpiece appointee."
I want to know who you were referring to when you described "an obama
political mouthpiece appointee". In other words, please provide the first
and last name of a person.
The recommendations came from a panel consisting of 16 George Dubya
appointees. Looks like another exercise in apparachik misinformation
from the Bush crime family.
==============
The organization's site says ANYONE was recommend a member. I doubt they
were all Bush appointees, but it's possible. Bush probably didn't even know
the group existed.

I have. But there still aren't any Oncologists in the bunch.
And my old girlfriend...42....
Was she in what all competent doctors call the "high risk group"?
And by the way, when it comes to epidemiology, the LAST person you'd want
crunching the numbers would be an oncologist, brain surgeon, internist,
pediatrician, ob/gyn, nurse, etc. They're not trained for that sort of work.
They might read articles, but it's not their job, really.
But you knew that, right?
I know. I couldn't resist. I have one tobacco ciggy every 3-4 days.

Smoke enemas? Doesn't that lead to colon cancer?
SEE! I knew it! I'm NOT blowing smoke rings out of my ass, because I came
up clean on the colonoscopy!
That's how you ALWAYS end discussions when you began them without having
enough information and you're too stupid to go find it. It's great fun. Keep
it up.
Sure. But where do the number originate?
They reported by doctors, hospitals and perhaps drug companies or
universities which conduct drug trials. That question really doesn't support
your argument.
What slap-down are you imagining? Describe it.
Seems that those who have been telling us the temperature of the world has
not increased since 1989 ARE WRONG. The temperature of the world has NOT
increased since the SIXTIES and that the temperature of the world has
actually been trending DOWN, since 1989. LOL

But in reference to my comment to you about quality here, reflect on the
"stock up on canned goods and ammo" thread.

It's amazing how he can begin a thread by mentioning "an appointee", without
having a clue about who he's actually referring to. But it was 3:20 AM when
he began the thread. He'd probably just picked himself up off the floor at
that point and was crawling to the bathroom to puke, when he decided on a
detour to the computer.
They were all Bush appointees. Dig a little deeper. The panel's
chairperson states that Dubya appointed all the members.
"But Ned Calonge, who chairs the 16-member panel, defended the
recommendations and denied that cost or the debate over health-care
reform played any role in the decision. "Cost just isn't a
consideration when the task force deliberates," said Calonge, who is
also the chief medical officer for the Colorado Department of Public
Health and Environment. Twelve of the task force members were seated
during the Bush administration, and the remaining four were chosen
before President George W. Bush left office, he said."
"But critics note that under legislation pending in Congress, the
panel's guidelines could be used to set standards for what insurance
companies would be required to cover. And although the latest research
was started long before the most recent health-care debate began, the
timing of Monday's announcement led many opponents to speculate that
the two are related."

I still don't believe it. Any president's response to such nominations would
likely be "Yeah whatever. What am I signing, Radar?"

DO YA THINK?!?!?!?!
What were your thoughts, if any, when the AMA announced that PSA tests were

Not me. I voted for a moderate.
