Help...I have the stock alarm that came with my 95 Limited, and it has taken
a life of its on. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It sounds
like a short, but I don't have any idea where to start. Does anyone know
where I can get directions on reprogramming the alarm. Thanks.

In article <semrkp...@corp.supernews.com>,
I was able to get some instructions(98) from Toyota after I joined the
owners area at toyota.com. You will need VIN number I believe. Just a
long shot - do you need a new battery in your remote? Ed

How many buttons on your remote, 2 or 3???

2 buttons is a VIPs while 3 is a TDS with keyless enhancement. They
program differently.

And I also wrote:

I was thinking of a later one, this should be a VIPS RS3000 and can be
programmed by turning the key on, pushing the program button on the VIPS
ECU then pushing one of the buttons on the transmitter, will beep once
when its confirmed.

Locate a small hole in the ECU, turn the key on to run, engine off and
push the button in till the status monitor goes steady on, within 4
seconds, push the button on the transmitter, the horn will sound when it
has acknowledged it. PS, newer RS 3000 transitters will replace the TVSS
ones and are much more durable. ;-)
