Proper Size Oil Filter Wrench (64mm)

I finally got an actual 64mm Toyota oil filter cap wrench

If you buy the after-market wrench, i.e.
<http://www.amazon.com/OEM-25404-Filter-Wrench-67mm/dp/B000CMHKY0>, it's
always a 65/67mm wrench it slips when you exert and force on it during
removal. The 64mm wrench is the exact size for Toyota brand filters and
fits tightly.

On our Camry Hybrid, the oil filter is accessible, but it's difficult to
get a strap wrench in there for removal, and you don't want to use a
strap wrench for tightening. It's not in a place where you can hand
tighten it very tight.

I tried to buy one at the dealer, and they said they didn't sell them,
so I ordered it from Tooltopia, but now I realize the dealer did have
them but the parts counter person didn't realize it. They sell the
TOY640 for removing the oil filter housing on vehicles with cartridge
filters, and it's the same wrench used on the Camry.

I bought the TOY300 set which includes a TOY640, a TOY730 (for my
4Runner) and one other in a cool plastic case:

I bought the appropriate TOY640 wrench, which fits perfectly, BUT
even when I torque the end cap and the filter housing perfectly, they
dont separate as they ideally should. I have started just removing the
entire body of the filter housing and catching the oil in a drain pan.
I guess I could put some teflon tape on the end cap to make it slip
easier, but havent tried it yet. This is a nice design, but it just doesnt
work quite the way it should do.

When I bought a replacement Mobil 1 oil filter for my 2007 Camry Hybrid, I
also bought a cap filter wrench; I put the wrench cap on the filter to make
sure it fit properly first. If I use K&N filters, I don't need a wrench,
because it has a socket drive hole in the top.
