I am looking for some performance specs for a '92 four cylinder Camry. I've
scoured the internet, but it hasn't been much help. In particular, I would
like to know the horsepower, 0-60, 0-100, quarter mile, top speed, and
compression ratio. Don't worry, I'm not going to try to race it, I just
like to know all I can about my vehicles.
Thanks in advance,
Robert Fisher

Robert,

Don't know if you ever got your answer, but I have a '92, and off the top of
my head, I'll attempt to give you the numbers, indicating approximations
with '@' where I'm unsure.

1992 Camry LE 2.0 EFI 4-cylinder

Horsepower: 130
Torque: @140 pounds
0-60 @ 8.5 seconds
0-100 unsure, but estimate @ 15 seconds
Quarter mile unsure, but estimate @ 12 seconds
Top speed: @115-120
Compression: @ 8.5:1

At one point, I had most these numbers pretty much committed to memory.
Now, eight years after buying the car, the numbers are sketchy, but should
be ballpark.

Assuming your talking about 0-60 m.p.h. (and not k.m.h.), I believe that 11
seconds is closer to reality for a 92 Camry.

Nope, 8.5 seconds sounds about right for 0-60 m.p.h. (no kilometers
anywhere).

I seriously doubt it. I have a manual V6 Camry from 1994 (same engine as
1992) and it does 0-60 mph in 7.75 sec. It would be impossible that a 4
cylinder engine with only two-thirds the power of the V6 can possibly do it
in only 0.75 sec more.

I have real figures from a motoring magazine:

Toyota Camry 1992-1994
4-speed Auto:

Cyls: 4
Cap: 2.2 L
Power: 95 kW (127 HP)

0-100 km/h: 11.97 sec
0-400 m: 18.27 sec
Top Speed: 193 km/h (120 mi/h)

As for the 0-400m you quote, almost every car manufactured would have a
problem achieving a 12 second pass. Most people need to add a turbo or two
to achieve even close to that figure.

My '91 Celica GT (same four, but a whole lot lighter) is about 9.5 secs.
Downhill I can get there in about 8.5.
