Doing some maintenance on a 94 2.2 4Cyl for my girlfriend. So far , I
replaced the front motor mount, torque dog bone thingy, cap/rotor/plugs,
had the flex part of the downpipe replaced with a universal. And now the
rear mount basically capitulated. Having been under the car to do the front
I took a good look to see how bad the rear one would be and I saw no easy
way to get to the top bolt of the engine mount.

It's obviously in the rear of the engine, and right under the intake
manifold. Getting to it from the top seems unlikely unless the manifold is
taken off. Is that the way to do it? Or do people manage to do access the
top bolt from the bottom somehow. The bottom bolts look pretty easy.

If you have the "WAY" to get this done in home garage, sure would like to
hear about it. As a side note, I've been buying parts from a local imports
parts store for probably half the price of dealer, cap/rotor parts were OEM,
not sure about the mounts. They seemed to come from Taiwan. The front one
cost me around $60, and the rear is a bit pricier around $180. It's supposed
to be liquid filled, but to me it doesn't look any different than the front,
except for different shape. The sticker it came with says it's for 92-95
4Cyl P/N 12371-74312. To make things even more interesting there seems to
be a TSB for vibration as per the FAQ, this is by the way why I started to
look at the car in the first place.

"There is an "anti-vibe" TSB that has been released and the kit consists
of a new engine mount (P/N 12361-74252), new engine mount insulator (P/N
12363-74120), a new lower radiator support (aka mount) (P/N
16535-74121), two new radiator hoses (P/N's 16571-74191 & 16572-74181,
four new hose clamps (P/N CLAMP) and new coolant to top off that which
was drained when the heater hoses were replaced. This TSB covers 92-93
Camrys experiencing this vibration problem and whose VIN#'s match those
outlined in the TSB." - Toyota FAQ...

Thanks for any info on how to do this....

What model years did the TSB include? Was it only the 4-cyl or did it apply
to the V6 also?

the rear engine mount is only accessable from the bottom. remove the two
mounting nuts coming through the engine support. then look up a little to
the engine block where you will see that typicle 14mm bolt. its not easy in
the drive way, but a little patence will help. good luck. Toyota Pro Tech

Don't know if it's for V6 or not....
