It didn't look like it from the ones I've seen,
but in the article about it winning the award
for the most washable car,
"http://autonet.ca/AutonetStories/stories.cfm?storyID=5220"
it stated:
"The Camry was noted for its smooth, aerodynamic design, which
resists catching and retaining dirt, securely fastened mirrors,
bumpers and wipers, retractable side view mirrors and rear
window wipers and moldings that do not protrude."
I'm thinking of replacing a 1996 Camry with a 2002, but I
won't buy another car with non-folding mirrors. Even the
Accord put them back in 2001 after going to one-piece
mirrors on the 2000.
What's the pricing like on the 2002 LE? The lowest I've
seen so far is about $200 under invoice. We paid $1600
under invoice for the 1996. When will Toyota start the
inevitable rebates and incentives?

I'd be willing to bet that the Camry's sold in Taiwan
and Japan have folding mirrors.

Why do you think that? (I agree, given my druthers, I'd like to have them,
too).

Manufacturer's drop features to save a small bit of
money per car, and I'd be willing to wager that the
folding mirrors cost at least a couple of bucks more,
and most people in the U.S. don't notice or don't care.
If you only lose a handful of sales due to decontenting
then it's well worth it. Saving $2 million per year and
losing only a couple of hundred sales is a pretty easy
choice.

Actually, Accords went to the non-folding in 1998 (which was the first year of
that body style) and then changed to the folding style in 1999. The 2000, 2001,
and 2002 Accords have the folding mirrors as well.
