Ok so I was in a real hurry to go to work, see
and the garage door was not all the way up, see
and the car radio was turned on, see
and it was about 5:00 in the morning, see
The next sound I heard, crash
I kept going

came back home heard some wierd sound
as I turned my car off, The antenna was trying
to get down but would not.

Questions:
one of the last antenna pipes won't go down,
should I fix it?
Is there any harm?
Can I leave it alone?
If I must fix it, How do I fix it?

Thank

Because the fix was so expensive when it happened to us, we replaced
the electric antenna with a fixed, spring loaded antenna (not whippy
or huge like an old style ham radio whip) for big savings.

This is true. Hopefully the motor and clutch itself is still OK after
trying to withdraw a recalcitrant antenna; I've had to replace one of
those and it's a LOT more than $28 ! :-)

That's the expensive part I was referring to in my earlier post about
replacing the automatic antenna with a springy fixed one for big savings.

I will look into it. Thanks for the info, $28 sounds ok, and from the 20
minutes estimate the work may not be that involved.

Mr. Sigelman. How did you disable the motor on the old antenna and replace with this spring loaded antenna. I have a 94 camry le. Thanks
