Considering Team Loco rims for 2000 Subaru Legacy GT.
Anyone ever heard of this company? Are the rims durable
and of good quality? Do they stand behind their work?

Any good or bad experiences appreciated.

Cheers,

Dean Hummel.
My opinions are my own.

Dean,
I just bought a set of 16" Team Loco wheels mounted with Dunlop Sport 5000
tires for my '98 OBS.
They only have a couple of hundred miles on them so I can't offer any info
on how they hold up but they look nice and seem to be well made.

BTW I bought them from the Tire Rack ( www.tirerack.com ). Their website
shows the Team Loco's in 17" only, but by calling I found that they had the
16's I wanted in stock. I bought them as a complete mounted/balanced
wheelset. They supplied the required 20 lug nuts but one of them was the
wrong thread pitch. I called them on the Friday I got the wheels, they
apologized and said they would ship a replacement . I was very pleased to
see a Fedex truck at my house on Saturday morning with a lug nut for me!
That is as good as service gets (other than getting right the first time of
course).

Dean,

I just *returned* a set of 16" Team Loco wheels for my 98 OBS (RIP).
They were mounted with 205/55/16 wheels, which rubbed the rear fender
walls with weight in the back. The offset for the Team Loco's is 47
mm, a bit shy of Subaru recommended.

Many Impreza owners like Alex have reported success with the Team
Loco's, but there are some reports of failures, like mine. Do a
search for Legacy owners and wheel offset. I don't know that the
offsets are the same. Maybe the wheel wells are bigger on a Legacy.

The Team Loco wheels themselves were fine for the money, tho I found
the center area to be a bit cheesy looking. I bought Racelines from
http://www.spdusa.com instead. Almost twice as much $ as the Team
Loco's, but much cheaper than any other good alternatives. They look
fabulous sitting in my foyer while I wait for the insurance settlement
so I can get a new Impreza (ouch).

TireRack's service is great by all accounts. They gave me a full
refund, plus they reimbursed me for dismounting labor. They know
these wheels are iffy on Subaru's, but they keep selling them.
Definitely the place for tires.
