Oversimplifying it:
In this case it refers to the OLD time engine bearings that were a
lead and copper (plus others) alloy mix that was heated to liquid and
poured in place. They were then finished to specifications and
installed. Replaceable 'shells' of basically the same material came
into being during the thirties. You could just replace the shell
instead of removing everything and pouring/machining. Pouring
bearings on old engines is fast becoming a 'lost art'.

PS Dave, I have a present for you that you can pick up at the next
meeting or if you can't make it I will send it on with someone headed
that way..hint....it shines and goes on the side of your newly painted
car...

1) Holiday Season

2) Value of dollar

3) Level of invetories

To amplify #3, inventories of refined product is falling due to refinery
activity being cut back. Leave it to big oil, speculators etc to
extract what they can from our wallets...

One of my best buddies is a captain on an oil rig supply boat. He
recently got laid off because they simply stopped pumping. He said
they will hire him back soon, happens every year.
