My '63 Cruiser has a red interior. The metal area around the windows
has some light surface rust and I plan to sand and repaint. Does
anyone know what color red it is?
Thanks,
Jim

I had the paint store mix up some super red, which was a color
Studebaker offered on Avanti powered Larks and Hawks in '63. The
super red was a slight metallic and looked great when finished. I did
the window frames, steering column and wheel. I asked that they use
the smallest sized flake in the mix. I had them mix lacquer, as
enamel on a steering wheel seems to get sticky eventually. Worked for
me.

That is the way I was thinking, but had not thought about the size of
the flakes.
Thanks,

The name of the original red interior color was Parma Red (metallic).
The Dupont numbers were 1186-BHI or 96593-H, neither of which will do
you much good today. That color is so close to Super Red that I don't
think anyone could tell the difference.
