Studebaker, the legendary American car maker that stopped making cars
in 1966, still has a loyal and passionate fan base. The company, which
began as a wagon maker in the 1800s, was famous for its innovation and
style in the car industry. From the powerful and elegant Hawk series
to the futuristic and stylish Avanti, Studebaker made a lasting impact
on the car culture and history.

In 2024, Studebaker enthusiasts and admirers have several reasons to
celebrate and remember. First, the 2024 Studebaker Calendar, which
features 12 beautiful photos of classic Studebaker models, is now
available for purchase. The calendar, which is in its 27th year of
publication, is a tribute to the beauty and diversity of Studebaker
cars. The calendar showcases models such as the 1953 Commander
Starliner, the 1957 Golden Hawk, the 1963 Lark Daytona, and the 1964
Avanti.

Second, a 2024 Studebaker Avanti concept car has been created by
HotCars artist Rostislav Prokop, who revived the 60s personal luxury
car with a modern twist. The concept car keeps the original Avanti's
unique design, but adds a more muscular and aggressive look. The
concept car also features a luxurious interior derived from a
Cadillac, a chassis and suspension setup from the 2024 Ford Mustang,
and a 500-horsepower Coyote V8 engine from the Ford Mustang Dark
Horse. The concept car is a homage to the Avanti's legacy as the
"World's Fastest Production Car", which broke 29 world speed
records at the Bonneville Salt Flats in the 60s.

Third, a 1963 Studebaker GT Hawk, which was stored for 46 years, has
been discovered and restored by a car enthusiast. The GT Hawk, which
was the final version of the Hawk series, combined European and
American styling elements, such as a Mercedes-Benz-inspired grille and
a Ford Thunderbird-like roofline. The GT Hawk was also a V8-exclusive
model, with engines ranging from 210 to 335 horsepower. However, the
restored GT Hawk no longer has its original engine, which was sold in
2023. Instead, it has a modern crate engine that delivers more power
and reliability.

These three examples show that Studebaker's legacy is still alive and
well in 2024, and that the brand still has a lot of fans. Studebaker's
influence on the current car space can also be seen in the popularity
of retro and futuristic designs, as well as the demand for performance
and luxury. Studebaker may be gone, but it is not forgotten.
