Help out a fellow SDC'er
Hi Studebaker Friends. I'm posting this to help out a fellow long-time
SDC member. His name is Craig Lindsey, but most of us have known him as
"Ol'Doc Clock". He was in the Auto-clock repair buisness and advertised
for several years in Turning Wheels. He repaired the clocks for all
makes of classic and antique cars, but Studebaker was his Favorite. He
had a stroke about 3-years ago and was forced to sell his buisness. He
has since lost his house and is living with a friend. He receives no
social security, and is living on very little. He hasn't even been able
to re-new his SDC Membership(I've taken care of that!). Doc is far too
proud to ask us for help. This was brought to my attention a couple
months ago by a mutual friend of Craigs- Ken Wilkes. In an effort to
help out Doc, Ken has gotten with his marketing company to see what they
could do.The Company is Lighthouse America. Because of Doc's interest in
Studebakers, Ken thought that they could help Doc out by listing him as
the company representative of a limited edition print by a well known
North Carolina artist named John Evers. The print is called "The Last
Stop". It is a front view of a '51 Studebaker parked in a sand dune
along a Carolina Beach. It's printing is limited to 1100 copies Please
take the time to see this print on the Lighthouse America Website at:

Ken then got in contact with me to try to get the word out to Doc's
Studebaker friends. I edit the NCSDC Newsletter and have been to a
couple meets (2-one today) where I have offered these prints for sale. I
have already sold several and bought one for myself. A member that
ordered one at the last meet said she received it in 2 days! We would
really appreciate anyone passing this information along to members
around the country, or placing an ad in their SDC chapter newsletters. I
have a couple photos of the print and can send them as bmp's, tif's,
gif's, or jpeg's so they can be printed out for a newsletter.
The retail price was $110. This was lowered for direct internet sale to
$79. However, all prints purchased through Doc will be sold at
wholesale- $50 + $5.50 S/H. Doc will receive a 50% commission on each
one($25).
I have copies of the order form that I can fax/e-mail to anyone that
needs it. There is a phone number and fax number on the form for those
that want to order with a credit card. It is very important that Craig
Lindsey be listed as the company representative- so he can get the
commission.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read this post. If you have any
questions, please e-mail me, or call me at 336-788-9225
