front window slot seal clips / installation

trying to install the window slot seal. snapping the seal into the
metal runner bar is difficult by hand - the seal is not in all the way
all along the rail. the seal appears fragile so I am hesitant to use a
mallet. I put some clips on the seal, some on the door in hopes of
snapping both into place.

I took the door panel off only. the window and inner metal door piece
are major obstructions. any tip appreciated.

as I recall, I worked it into place a fraction of an inch at a time with
a thin bladed screwdriver, but it was a long time ago

thanks Bill - can you recall if you affixed the clips to the door
first, or the clips to the seal first?

no, I dont' remember, but the usual practice would be to put the clips
on the seal and then attch the seal to the door
