i have a manual steering rack off a california car. this will fit all
944's including turbos and 924S. it can be used as is for all 944's
(including turbo) through 1986 and also 924S of 1987. it may also be
used with later cars but will need different tie rods which are
available through Paragon Products. this rack is in very nice
condition and the tie rod ends are good with boots still intact. i
would just replace the rubber boots and clean out the old grease and
repack and you're ready for years of maintenance free steering which
if you're familiar with a 944, you know this is a rare thing. Give
up the horrible and always leaking power steering and gain added feel
for the road. and this will be the last rack you ever replace not to
mention the added advantage of less weight and more HP from not
driving the pump!
$300 for the rack, intermediate shaft (which is different from the
power steering version), tie rods with ends, mounting bushings and
brackets and bolts.
