Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help - I given up on my main
dealer after two attempts to sort this problem out..

The stop light on my Peugeot 406 HDi (with air-con)
flashes when the car is moving - altho' the diagoistics
says nothing is wrong, and no other light is illuminated.

A dodgy connection perhaps? The car just had it's (major)
72,000 mile service so all coolant and oil levels are fine
(or should be).

I think I need to tell the dealer what to look for, or
check - does anyone seen this problem before?

Thanks a million,
Regards,
Phil

406 HDi 24,000 miles
I noticed the same, generally only occurs shortly after moving off and is
usually accompanied with a beep.
I tracked it down to two things, 1. the handbrake not fully down and 2. I
saw mention that the ABS sends a signal to the on board computer that it is
in operation, the first time the brakes are pressed above 20mph - where I
saw that still eludes me. I have devoured several dozen pages of help and
manuals still cannot find it.

Thanks for the info - I'll look at both areas tonight - could anyone
tell me if there is any signficance in the fact that the STOP light
flashes rather than is steadily on?? Is it's behaviour a Peugeot thing
or a national standard (?)

Just a thought,

Dunno if this is any help but my 306 brake light switch got pushed
forward slightly which meant I had to brake quite hard before the
light came on. Could it be that the switch has moved back slightly
under the dash to that its right on the edge of being on or off. Just
a suggestion.
