I have a 96 with a similar problem. When I would make a quick right turn, I
would lose the right channel. This was only an issue for the CD player
(in-dash, not changer) and not the radio or cassette player. One day this
happened and and I realized that the problem was a physical problem. My
thinking was that if (making a right turn) momentum forced something to the
left, trying to force something to the right would fix the problem. Since I
was already mad about this, I beat the right side of the console with my
fist. This solved the problem every time. Sometimes I would get an error
on the player. All I had to do is eject and reinsert. This is not a
recommendation, I am just telling you what worked for me.
Interestingly enough, this was more of a problem when I lived in Texas.
When I moved to PA a few years ago, I had the problem less frequently. I
moved to MA last year and can't remember the last time it happened.

One strange thing, the new Bose system actually sounds much better than
the old one (and I mean before the speaker problem started). I used to
have to pump up the bass and treble (+2 and +1, respectively), but if I do
that now it's too much bass and treble. Maybe they incorporated a few new
fixes in the fixed model.
