Hey duke, if your god created the universe, what created god? What was
there before god and how did he/she/it come to be?
No body can answer that. So tell me this - if God didn't do it, where did it
come from? How can you suggest either it created itself or it always existed,
God forbid.
So if you don't agree with me, what is your answer?

Hey, guess what, our universe exists. Would you care to venture a guess how? Or
do you just plan on saying it doesn't exist because there is no Creator?????

My comment to you, danny girl, is that is God didn't exist, where does our
universe come from?
And please spare me the "it created itself - which would then make it the
creator", or "it always existed", which makes you the laughing stock on the ng.

If he created everything, what created him? Did he create himself? Did
other more powerful gods create him? Does he even exist? You are the
laughing stock in everything that you say. Now I'm waiting for an
answer. Please don't continue trying to answer my question with another

Crazymotherfuckers have no answers for reality, but I suspect you knew
that. They _BELIEVE_ and no amount of logic can impinge on those closed
minds. They _NEED_ a cosmic boogeyman because they fear to live alone,
responsible for their actions. They _NEED_ a moral crutch because their
willpower to resist those bad thoughts everyone has.
That's why they're crazymotherfuckers.

About 13.7 billion years ago a singularity became unstable and
exploded. We call these even the Big Bang, and have observational
evidence for it.
What caused that singularity, and why it blew up in a rapid expansion,
is currently the subject of much debate.

If everyting needs to be created, than god would need to be created
too. You might suggest something preposteroous as "God created
himself" or "God exists without creation" of course. But the same
logic applies as to the universe.
However something else applies to the universe only,
it can be observed by (radio)telescopes.
That is the reason theories need not include god, but do need to
include the universe. (everything that can be objectively observed).
Please refrain from explaining phenomena with unproven assertions.
As soon as God has been observed we will accept theories involving
him.
In the meantime however we keep pointing out that even if he did
exist,
we would still be lacking an explanation of his origin.
The leading theory on the origin of the universe is that of the "Big
Bang"
actually that theory is only an extrapolation of the observed red-
shift.
If you find it unsatisfying, I will agree with you.
However it does try and go by known facts, not known myths.
As such the Big-bang is a better explanation than "God did it".

An omnipotent god could create itself in the sense that the
omnipotent god is the essence of everything and so was always
present.
The universe as science defines it, is a dynamic complex of interrelated
events, on-going and ever-changing. Each event has a logical
and knowable cause and effect on all other components. This universe
however could not have created itself because it lacks the capacity
of action independent of a cause.
An *omnipotent* god on the other hand can create such a universe
yet does not have a beginning, middle and end. It is as It was
and is as It will be.

If he did exist, why would he let you know it?
Your arrogance is the only thing which requires an explanation for
its origin.
Your ignorance is such that you cannot 'prove' anything yet you
demand that others do what you cannot. You are an excellent example
of the continuing decline of education.

I am very surprised that using the same logic on a similar subject is
considered arrogant. Surely if god created the universe than before
the niverse existed god was in fact the universe (the total of
everything that exists).
The only difference being that people who claim god exists, for
obvious purposes also claim god cannot be observed.
Of course - any possibility of verivication being assumed impossible,
I have no reason to believe that such an entity exists.
In this thread the sole issue however is, to explain that assuming a
divine being does not explain anything. For the explanation (god) is
even more mysterious than what is supposed to be explained.
Assuming god created the universe and god itself has no cause,
is not an explanation at all. It is just a way to evade the issue.
I have no reason to assume a god would have any interest in sharing
any knowledge with me. Therefor I am very surprised that his
worshippers feel different.
But neither do I think the universe has any such interest.
Nevertheless the universe is observable, and obsrvations are in fact
the only source of knowledge.
Care to disagree? Then please tell me what knowledge I have, that did
not involve some kind of observation.
Care to explain what proof I required from anyone in this thread?
Care to explain what it is I "arrogantly" claimed without proof?
Always willing to learn,

You have your knowledge which is dependent upon your senses.

> I have no idea. Where did the universe come from?
"He [the pope] told us that it was all right to study the evolution
of the universe after the big bang, but we should not inquire
into the big bang itself because that was the moment of Creation
and therefore the work of God. I was glad then
that he did not know the subject of the talk
I had just given at the conference - the possibility
that space-time was finite but had no boundary, which means that it
had no beginning, no moment of Creation.
