Toyota's equivalent to the Lexus IS300

Is it true that in Japan, and maybe even in Europe, that there is a vehicle
sold with the Toyota badge that is basically an IS300? Someone mentioned
something to this effect at work the other day and I thought I'd check it
out with the Toyota and/or Lexus experts on this board.

You are talking about the Toyota Altezza. In Japan there is no Lexus brand,
Lexus's are badged as Toyota's
