96 LS400 Sunroof question...

Hey all,

I read though this newsgroup everyday, just wish there was more traffic
here.

My 96 LS400 Sunroof stops on closing 1/2 way though. Is there something I
can do to change this to close all the way. It's a pain when closing and I
have to click it 2 times to close it.

Is it possible with an adjustment someplace ?

I have a 90, and I hate that "feature". I wish it just close all the
way with a double click, like the driver window does on the way down.

And I wish mine wouldnt leak when I run it through the wash!

I believe this is a safety feature to prevent inadvertently closing the roof
on an appendage or a child. And I don't believe there is any way to defeat
it.

You are correct, it is on there as a safety feature when closing only. Works
fine on my 96 LS, it is not even a bother.

I would like to let you know they have changed this feature on I believe the
98's and newer. There is now a obstrution sensor system that will close the
sunroof and all windows all the way unless there is an obstrution, then they
will roll back down.

I love this car but, Maybe in the next year or 2, I'll upgrade. I know I
have my eye on a LS430, and when I am looking for something I'm in trouble !

At least a year or 2, Maybe sooner if I win powerball : )
