Hi there....anyone ever deal with Classic Roadsters form Fargo North
Dakota?.
Specifically I am looking at their 427 Cobra kit. Anyone care to comment
on how they are to deal with?....quality of kit?...many back
orders?etc......they have a websit at http://www.classicroadsters.com
I spoke with a salesman yesterday and he seemed okay to talk with on the
phone...at least no pressure sales talk.
Anyone out there in cyber space ever build a kit from these folks that care
to comment?
Has anyone ever brought a kit to Canada?...what kinds of problems at the
border am I faced with by doing this ?(From Canada here). Does an American
made kit fall under the "free trade agreement"? Or am I stuck paying all
sorts of duty at the border?...
Thanks in advance for any replies...to reply directly...please take the
"nospam" out of my adress.... Regards..Jim Morris

I bought and built a Sebring MX in 1989. Absolutely no problems with
them at all.
The company was sold in the early 90's to some scam artists.
Gary Rutherford, the orginal owner then bought his company back again
and all is still well.

I built one of their kits called a "Marlene". It is a 1936 Mercedes
kit. I had good luck with it. Lots of fun.

I almost bought one of those to build on spec. One thing as usual led to
another and I never got around to it.

Do they still offer that model? I thought it was one of the nicest neo-classics
ever done, it didn't look like pimp daddy fuzzy's car nor did it scream "VW Bug
underneath here either".

I bought my kit from them in Feb 99. The company was excellent to deal with,
very responsive. Any part I didn't like, they swapped with no questions asked.
There was some delay on a couple of parts, but never slowed down my work any.
They let me know ahead of time what parts were delayed and for how long. And
their delivery was exactly on schedule. A good company to deal with.

There are a couple of small design errors in the kit. But nothing I couldn't
fix at home with basic hand tools and a little thought
I have the deluxe dash and heater kit. I wouldn't do that again. The deluxe
dash is a pain in the ass to assemble and install. The dash heater ports are a
waste, and the defroster doesn't work at all. I'd use the standard dash, and
make my own heater.
I have a 302 with an Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold and Holley carb. With
a short air cleaner, there is only about 1/2" of hood clearance. If you want to
use the 351W, I think you would have to fabricate your own motor mounts.

But the kit was fun to build, and a blast to drive.
