I can't find where the filter is!!! Can anyone point me at it?

Not a dumb question. It should be on the driver's side, up about midway
on the engine pointing straight toward the fender, not pointed down
where you might be able to unscrew and remove without spewing hot, dirty
oil all over your steering rack and your face. :)
You might have to get up under a crossmember to get at it. Mona's F-150
has a round cutout in a large crossmember to get it out.
On my 4.6L Mustang, it's advantageous to put a folded sheet of newsprint
over the steering rack before attempting filter removal. Keeps the rack
clean, and of course, keep the drain pan underneath it all.
Make sure the filter you put in has a silicone anti-drainback valve.
(Motorcraft 820S works fine; some of the old 820's without silicone are
still floating around though. Don't use them if you don't have to.)
