Hey there all! I was just curious as to what the song on the Ford Focus
commercial was. It just started appearing in Vancouver Canada. Not quite on
topic but I thought you people would be the people to ask! Thanks!

Nah, that's not a silly question, it's a good TRIVIA question... maybe
it'll be on "Who wants to be a millionaire" on TV.

try calling 1-800-392-FORD. it's Ford's info line during US business hours.

Hi,
If it's the same song used in European TV ads (here
in Turkey), it's You Gotta Be from Des'ree.
I think just because of these TV commercials, the
publisher included this song to her last album as a
bonus song; Supernatural.

YOU GOTTA BE - Des'ree
-----------------------
CHORUS 1:
Listen as your day unfolds
Challenge what the future holds
Try and keep your head up to the sky
Lovers, they may cause you tears
Go ahead release your fears

Stand up and be counted
Don't be ashamed to cry

CHORUS 2:
You gotta be
You gotta be bad, you gotta be bold
You gotta be wiser, you gotta be hard
You gotta be tough, you gotta be stronger

You gotta be cool, you gotta be calm
You gotta stay together
All I know, all I know, love will save the day

Herald what your mother said
Readin' the books your father read
Try to solve the puzzles in your own sweet time
Some may have more cash than you
Others take a different view
my oh my heh, hey

CHORUS 2

Don't ask no questions, it goes on without you
Leaving you behind if you can't stand the pace
The world keeps on spinning
You can't stop it, if you try to
This time it's danger staring you in the face
oh oh oh

Remember

CHORUS 1

My oh my heh, hey, hey

CHORUS 2 til fade

I have seen a number of the commercials here in Calgary, Alberta in
movie theatres, tv, etc... it's not the Des'ree song. It's something
obscure that I've never heard before, although it's very nice and I
wouldn't mind finding out what it is exactly.

Yes. I agree. Not the Des'ree song. I'm dying trying to find the song title.

something along the lines on having faith in you or somewhat. Arg! The
serach goes on.

Does anyone have a sample of this song on a .wav file or .mp3? I have no
idea what this music is as I have not seen a lot of commercials for the
Focus yet, in fact I am quite dissappointed with the lack of them (for a
change). Once again go figure, I live in Edmonton and Daniel lives in
Calgary (same province, and No this is not a "Calgary advantage") For that
last comment you need to live here to appreciate it.

Heheh.. Actually, I'm living in Calgary temporarily on an Engineering
Internship from the U of A. I saw the Ford Focus commercial before
"The World Is Not Enough" at the Gateway 8 theatres on Calgary Trail
last Saturday. I just accidentally come across the commercials on TV,
more luck than anything.

My mother caught a commercial on videotape by chance, but she taped
over it already.. sorry!

Okay, here's the deal. From the reply I got from Ford, it isn't actually a
song (assuming they are talking about the same commercial I am). Just
something written for the commercial. I'm going to have to find the commercial
again to listen to it again but I culd have sworn I heard it before. Oh well.
Anyways, as short as it is, it's by Lisa Dalbello. Hope they have the right
commercial in mind.
