Howdy folks

I saw the used holley side scoop going for $65 on ebay. I was wondering what
a new one in the package was worth.

thanks

i dont know if they are still sold but a few years ago I paid about $20 new for
one!
80% of ebay auctions are a testosterone battle in my opinion!

Hi Riverj,

Where did you get the scoop that you bought a few
years ago?

I got mine from the Fiero Store 2 years ago a month before they were unable
to get them. After seeing several go on ebay for over $65 I decided to put
mine up. (couldn't use it anyway because of the dust on the roads around my
house) That's mine on ebay by the way. Someone must have really wanted it
bad to bid over my reserve on the first day. I never really thought it would
get to the reserve that quickly.

I live in Ohio and got it at a place called "jegs". They ordered it for
me. I am not swearing on it but I am almost positive it was about 18.99
or something.
I just recently saw where they dont make them anymore.

Holley has re-issued the scoop see link:
http://www.holley.com/HiOctn/ProdLine/OthrProd/AirClean/120-123.html

It is true Holley stopped making them 2 years ago but the Fiero clubs and
requests to purchase the mold from Holley the decided to re-issue it in
December for $19.95
The one on Ebay is way too expensive!!
I know I work for Holley.

Sorry, I'm a little dense-and a little new.
I don't understand how the side scoop installs and does it actually have any
dividends?
And why did Holley make the 2.8 throttle body unit? Was it in all the
"high-output" GM 2.8L applications?

Holley sales says no!. Fell free to contact them yourself or if you do in
fact work for them look it up in the computer and you will see it marked as
an obsolete part.

There's still 2 days left on the auction for the Holley scoop I have put up
on Ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=247413612
I would love to see it go to someone from the Fiero Community. To follow up
on the rumors circulating the list I just called Holley sales directly. (no
pussy footing around). The Girl i talked to reported the part is obosolete.
and upon request sent this e-mail as verification.

Hi

I'm not exactly sure how it mounts, I've seen them installed, and it looks like it's
screwed on over the original grille on the driver's side. Probably uses the same screw
holes as the stock grille. Only complaint I've heard is that it gathers too much dirt and
junk if you're in a dusty area, but I'd guess it would help feed air in better than
without.

Holley makes a lot of TBI's for a bunch of cars, the GM 2.8L HO's I think were all Holley.
Of course there were a lot of older cars that came stock with Holley Carbs, this is no
different.

Clint,
After all the post I just read about this, don't you think your going a
bit overboard. Sure, make your point, but on this thread, it's a tad bit off
topic...

Sorry, my mistake (damn outlook express), I followed the thread, and it was
off topic in the thread I was reading, but not after I read the rest of the
letter...

it installs with two prongs that go into the bottom and two screws on the
top that snap into it. it allows more air to go straight into the throttle
