Having fun with the newsgroups while over here in Kuwait. Yes I know of
the Pennocks forum. Just wanted to strike up a conversation here.

So who has Fieros and what are they like?

I have my 1985 Fiero with like 230K miles on it. Love that car. I
plan on replacing the engine on the car and continuing to use it. I
love having the inspection at only the breaks and lights!! :)

Mine is red, a SE, and in fairly good condition. Recently replaced the
dew wipes on my doors, and a few other additions. Also replaced the
headliner a year a so back. In truth, in the 15 years I have had the
car, I think I have replaced just about everything minor. ;) Well I
say me, my Dad did a lot, and I did about a quarter of what he did. ;)

My Dad has a 1986 Red Fiero, and from there, we had a bunch of other
Fieros we collected as a family. At one time our whole family had
Fieros, but in time my sisters sold theirs, and the others are in need
of repair, including sadly, my Dad's car. But he has in mind to get it
working again.

I love to help defeating the odds.

Yeh plan on repainting my car this summer. My car looked even better
but a truck backed over my car and I had to replace it with a hood that
had been outside and the paint had faded on. At any rate, it will all
look good soon. Two years ago I worked on the dew wipes. Those
things are cool when they work. :)

So what major issues have you ran into? For me it is the transmission
censor had to get disconnected at one point. Car runs just less
efficiently now but runs.

Few years ago had to replace the water pump.

It would be nice if this NG would pick back up. I'm working on an 89 Fiero
SE. So far I've gone through the engine and suspension. I've restored the
rear louvers and luggage rack. Actually used bedliner on those to get the
same finish as original but hopefully much longer lasting. Waiting to put
the new rims and tires on it till Spring. I hope to finish the body and
interior before Summer. Some pics here: http://imgur.com/a/SQdTZ

Yea, 89 was a typo it's an 85. Iron Duke 2.5 and the Getrag 5 speed. I've
always been into Firebirds and wondered about Fieros. Got this one and I
love it. Same room as the Firebird for two and to be honest a Firebird is a
two-seater with a huge trunk. <grins> I haven't gotten to drive it much
yet but I'm looking forward to this Summer.

Nothing wrong with that. Considering there have been like three 89
Fieros made that would be amazing.

How long have you had the Fiero?

They've always looked like that to me. To matter the fact, sometimes
the Firebird and Fiero look about the same head on. At least to my
wife. :)

Yeh me too. Will be time to work on the trim, fix some things on the
Fiero, and put a new coat of paint on the car.
