I've had 3 estimates for a complete Paint Job in my Fiero. The lowest
price was 2200 complete. I figure that there is no way for me to fork
out that kind of money so I am going to do it myself.

Hi,
I'm just curious on how much a paint job would cost for a fiero? does the
endouroflex body make a huge difference in price?

checked into this myself...had a few estimates, average cost is about
$1500 CAN for a good paint job (Dupont - lifetime warrenty) - of
course you can spend way more than that -

ps >> the estimates I got were just to paint the panels as I would
take them off and deliver them, so no masking is needed (I want it
that way so that the edges actually get painted as well, not just the
face)

You old dude:-) That doesn't even cover the cost of the
paint...assuming, of course that you don't want to finger paint your
car...but then I was always better at finger painting than car
painting... You might have an idea worth considering...What's finger
paint running for these days?

Maaco offered to paint my car from anywhere from $500 to $700 with
body work if needed. they have some special on right now with a coupon
since i'm a bit strapped for cash only being 18 years old
i think this is where i'm getting mine done
it may not be the ultimate best carshow paintjob
but it's better than the peeling/chipping paint job that is on my
fiero right now.

Depends on what you want. MAACO can probably do a better than average
paint job for $500-$800 and have it turn out pretty decent. That would
depend on how good that particular MAACO guy is. Fiero Factory swears by
the one in Huntsville, Alabama - and they might do mine. But the sky is
the limit on what you can spend. How good a job do you want? Call a few
local paint shops and get quotes, see some cars they painted.

Just remember that some of the panels require that a flex additive be added
to the paint or the paint will chip off the first time the panel is flexed.

I painted my Fiero twice and each time I did a pretty decent job. I
wouldn't want to paint my brand new car any time soon but on a car like the
Fiero, just do it yourself.
