Hello. I'm a newby at this. Maybe a foolish question.

I finally purchased my first diesel truck - 1997 Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel
4X4 ECab LB. I 'm a sportsman and tow alot of different trailers for
fishing, hunting, camping etc. I just received the truck and love it. Only
thing I could find myself wishing for is some extra "ummfff" when it comes
to accelleration. Can anyone advise me what my options would be to make a
modest increase in accelleration without drastically affecting fuel economy
or engine life. I would appreciate this very much. Thanks. Brian Irwin,
Sault Ste Marie, ON. Can.

exhaust, chip(large gains on the diesels), actually a ton of options for the
turbodeisel. check on banks stuff. www.bankspower.com is the place to go.
with the 12v gain 127hp, 331lbs torque with the power pack, or smaller
pakages or single items are available, but they are the experts. everyone
loves their stuff. i believe bulldog or bullydog or someone makes stuff as
well.

'97 doesn't have electronics... therefore, nothing to "chip". A TST fuel
plate will do wonders for it, though...

Hello. Thanks for answering a question I posted recently. If I may could
you briefly answer some questions for me. I would really appreciate it.

Hello you mentioned you installed a TST 12 valve power kit on your 1997
Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel. A couple questions if I may:

1. Did you install it yourself?
2. Did you order the upgrade kit through through the mail?
4. How long to install?
5. Difficult to install? Average ability mechanic can do it?
6. Much setup or adjustment after it's installed? Or just install and away
it goes?
7. Was your FUEL MILEAGE adversly affected? If so in which way. How much
better/worse?
7. Is improved accelleration & torque very noticable?

Thanking you in advance for any questions you may answer.

1. Did you install it yourself? Yes With the help of a friend that had put
one in his truck.
2. Did you order the upgrade kit through through the mail? Yes. When I called
to order it they where very helpful.
4. How long to install? In one day we installed the plate, put in a set of
"A" pillar gauges and a better air cleaner. I would recommend doing all three.
If interested I can send links for the gauges and the air cleaner.
5. Difficult to install? Average ability mechanic can do it? Not at all
difficult. It comes with a video that shows every step. Very helpful.

6. Much setup or adjustment after it's installed? Or just install and away it
goes? Not much at all. It explains it all in the video.

7. Was your FUEL MILEAGE adversly affected? If so in which way. How much
better/worse? No noticeable difference.
7. Is improved accelleration &torque very noticable? Yes. I am still amazed.

If you have any more ?'s let me know

~Bill
