HI there. I have a huge problem I need some help with.

Today I borrowed the Father in - Laws  94 - 3/4 ton diesel 4x4 to tow another 1/2 ton home about 2.5 hour trip each way. About 10 to 15 minutes before I got home with it, the Engine revved right up, went right back to normal, and I carried on home. Thought nothing of it, truck ran great all day.

Well, when I got home, the tranny fluid was pissing out all over the ground. (what a mess). From what it looks like the leak is from a fitting on a line that seems to connect into a cylinder a littler larger than a coffee can.(possibly a receiver??)

Don't know how long it was leaking, I will assume not long because I had stopped for a coffee 40 minutes before I got home, And all seemed OK.

First question: should the whole line be replaced or can that section be cut and replaced?

So, I go to put it my yard, get about 20' put it in reverse and she wouldn't go no more. Put in a couple of litres of fluid to get it moving again (which it did just fine)

Took a walk up my street to where I had to come to a stop and there a little trail of fluid nothing large. I will assume that the line spit out the majority of it's juice in front of my house, because as the moments went on the leak got worse and worse, to the point that when I parked it seemed like a faucet was turned on just to release transmission fluid.(at this point the truck was off)

Second Question:  What damage did this cause to the transmission if any?

Thank for any input anybody would like to pass on.

Considering the posts we've seen lately, it'd be nice to know what brand
of truck it is also.

Hey! I just thought of something ( quit laughing, GG, it happens. . .
just like regular bowel movements.).

We're all so damn good at answering Mopar questions, everyone thinks we
can help with brand X, Y, and Z crap.

We have the best of the best here. We're NUMERO UNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and now back to your commercials.

sound like you ran the trany on o/d and cooked the oil and it came out the
ezyest way it found. change oil and filter check for shavings if just a few
it will be ok i think.
