Regarding the following email:

I received this spam regarding some P.O.S. Boneville.. The reason I am
posting it here is that if you are considering purchasing from Tom Henry
Chevrolet, to be aware that they use unsolicited email as a method of
advertising.

I never contacted them about any car before, let alone a car as crappy as a
P.O.S. Pontiac Bonneville.

So exactly what is wrong with a Bonneville? I know it's not a Vette,
and the ahole should not spam. But exactly what do you think is wrong
with that car? Some folks do gotta get vittles from the market to the
home.

BTW -- I have a Pontiac Bonneville SSEi in my automotive stable, and
have never had a reason to call in a POS.

The problem with it is that I am not in the market for one, and do not plan
to ever be in the market for one, having once owned a Bonneville (bought it
from original owner, private sale), and the dealer should not have spammed
me as I have never contacted any dealer about buying any P.O.S. Bonneville
before, nor have I contacted Tom Henry for any other purpose or inquiry.

The fact that I'm not interested in it and did not inquire about any

OK then. The dealer is a POS not the car.

Back in days gone by when we wanted to "get back" at somebody we would sign
that person up for a magazine subscription or two. Is it possible someone is
dusting your tail by posing as you at the dealer so you get his unwanted
attention? Just a thought. It seems pretty weird that you would be
specifically targeted with a Bonneville.

It's possible. It's also possible that they got my email addy from the ZR1
mailing list and a couple of related lists I'm on, and sent me the email
accidentally, in which case I wholeheartedly apologise for jumping the
conclusion that is was a case of a spammer trying to verify live email
addresses.

Hey, Tim:

Seems to me that a closer parallel to the fake magazine subscription
prank would be to tell a dealer that one of us on a.a.c. was
interested in purchasing a 'Stang. ;-)
