1973 (190hp, 4-spd), 1974 (195hp, 4-spd) and 1977 (180hp, a/t, CA).
14S417610 indicates it is a Chevrolet built in 1974 in St. Louis. The last
six digits should match the last six digits of your VIN number. Also the
fifth digit of your VIN should be J. The engine is also called the L48. It
has 195hp, 8.5:1 compression ratio, 4-barrel carburator, your car should
have an automatic transmission (auto/nb2).

The casting number 3970010 and suffix code, CLC, are correct for a 74
Corvette, 350 cu in, 195 HP, automatic transmission.
14S417610 should match the VIN tag of the car. This will verify this
is the original engine for the car.
