I need advice on how to open the hood on my '69 Corvette when the hood
release does not work.

Try using a coat hangar. Crawl underneath, reach up, and hook the release
cable that runs across the rear of the hood, then yank it down. This will
unlock the latches and the hood should spring open.

That's a good idea! On my '76, I used a wood stick...got underneath on
the drivers side with a flashlight, and pushed the cable towards the front
window. Unfortunately, this only popped the passenger side release. To
get the drivers side latch undone, I raised the hood about 6" on the
passenger side and, with a flashlight and stick, poked at the other latch.
Worked pretty good.

Later,

Rob

His signature does not guarantee anything either. Are you that naive or am I too
suspicious?

Myron,

I hear your point but the sad reality is this: ANY EXPERIENCED CAR THIEF
WILL GET YOUR CAR, REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU DO, IF HE REALLY WANTS IT.
Those who do this for a "living" already know all the tricks so I don't
think this NG has just spawned a wave of Corvette larceny.

Just a joke, folks.
