Check Engine Light on in 2007 Sedan

Greetings,
I bought my Malibu new in May 2007, and for nine years it was terrific. However, my check engine light came on in June, and I paid $700+ for a replacement mass airflow sensor (MAF) + tune-up from the dealer on June 30th. Today, the check engine light has come on again. Is this now likely to be a chronic problem? In other words, should I be looking for a new car at this point? Thanks.
