>Okay a pan hard Arm is designed to stop side to side motion on the rear
>axle right.
Essentially, yes.
>Okay but so doesnt a sway bar.
No, a sway bar, or anti-roll bar is designed to prevent the chassis
from "swaying" to one the outside of a corner.
>So if a car already has a
>sway bar what good is a panhard bar. wouldnd a panhard be obsolete if
>there is a sway bar. Seriously what is the benifit of havving both..
A sway bar has a more direct effect on the body roll, while a pan
hard rod controls the position and movement of the rear end. A coil
spring suspended car _must_ have a panhard rod or type of locating
device <ex., IRS cars simply use the hard mounted arms to locate the
axle>, while a sway bar is optional. A leaf spring suspended car may
run with niether type because the leaf springs serve as axle locators.

in the middle of the night,
searching for the brightest star,
there you are,
like an angel standing guard,
there you are.
