I know the LT1 is famous for oil leaks but I never payed much attention
to the posts here concerning that subject. I guess I should have, I
noticed a spot of oil on the concrete under the passenger side of the
engine near the front. Anyone have an idea where it may be coming from?
The car is stored for the winter so I really am not able to get a good
look at it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's important to first determine what kind of fluid(s) may be
involved. Sometimes the location of the puddle, isn't directly above
the leak. Get under the car and look, wipe up all the fresh oil from
the motor and put a clean piece of cardboard down in the driveway.
Take the car out for a drive, then park over it. Look at the new
dribble and look directly above it. The #1 notorious leak problem
with LT-1's is caused by the ATV sealant used at the front and rear of
the intake manifold. This is covered by a techical service bulliten so
you can call your goodwrench service manager and book an appointment
to get it fixed.

The leak is coming from the intake manifold, it is an extremely common
problem with the LT1, I actually know very few LT1 owners that HAVEN'T
had the leak! That is how common it is! Most dealers are well aware of
the problem and will be able to fix it rather quickly (less than a day
and a half).

Here's my post and some replies to it on my LT1 leaks with a '95 Formula.
Might be your intake manifold, timing cover gasket, or distributor seal:
--------
I hope they fixed your intake leak--I've has an '88 IROC w/ 350 replaced two
times on the intake gasket. Too quicly they assume the leak is from the
intake manifold gasket (which has been a chronic problem for the 350
engine--esp. rear of intake). My 95 Formula leaked from the front twice and
the rear once. New intake seems to be working well plus they used a "new
updated" sealant released 6 months ago.

The dealer here in Cincinnati (Beechmont Pontiac) has been pretty good at
expending effort diagnosing the leaks. The mechanic has worked with Pontiac
over 15 years. They keep an "open ticket" on my car so I don't think they're
too shocked every time I come in the door about every two months or so.

I've also had the passenger door realigned, the driver's door molding
replaced, and the T-tops weather stripping replaced/updated to the '97 year
style (double wide) to prevent leaks. Finally, on the last go-around, they
replaced the hatchback glass (crazy as it seems) to replace just the molding
which had contracted from cold/warm weather and was rattling pretty bad. GM
wouldn't let them order just the molding so they had to get the whole rear
glass w/ molding and defogger screen installed.

Have ' 95 LT1, also had oil leak from front and back of intake, you would
think GM would find a solution to this age old Chevy problem.

i have has two 95 Z/28s and they both leaked ...it was the intake both times!!
my newest only had 17k on it and my last one only had 22k on it<but it dyed a
horrable death in the tree's>.. my point is the intakes leak worse on the LT/1
than any chevy i ever owned. my 88 IROC had 120,000 on it and didnt leak a
drop!!

Yep! Intake. I bought my '94 Z-28 with 8500 miles on it. It had already had the
gasket replaced once and has since had to be done 3 MORE TIMES! They apparently
couldn't get it right the first three, but the fourth seems to have worked.
Although, now I seem to have a idle problem (42,000 miles). What the hell!!! I
love this car, but it is worse than raising children! Now the thing is out of
warranty, showing no codes, but unning like shit (the dealer can't feel
anything though).
