Does anybody have a brand name recommendation on a replacement top for a 1968 firebird convertible?

Go to Year One and get their catalog. 1-800-YEARONE. Their catalog lists a "35 oz or thicker pinpoint grain material" for $170 with plastic window. If you are going to do it yourself. As for brands you can look for "Best Tops" they have a web site too. Make sure you get the correct "XX oz" weight material for that specific car. Cheaper tops usually are lighter weight material. I had a bottom line top on my 67' Malibu and it looked great but vibrated and howled so much at highway speed you couldn't talk in the car.

For a quick guide to tops and materials, go to <www.haartz.com>
I think that they are OEM suppliers of convertible tops for many auto makers.
