I am looking for some performance upgrades for a '95 3.4l v6 camaro.
Right now the engine is completely stock. I am looking to start out
with some cheaper upgrades (couple hundred $'s), then moving on to more
expensive ones later on. I am looking into chips, ram air intakes,
exhaust systems, superchargers, and whatever else is available. I am
just looking for some ideas on where to start, and where to get the
equipment.

Chip won't do too much for you, you can bump the timing up yourself a bit.
It will however wipe out rev limiter if you are inclined to push it deep
into the red, and a governor if the car has any (i don't think it does).

First one that you will feel is lower gears. Not that expensive either. I
don't know what your car has, but go about a half or so (i.e. if you car is
3 go to 3.5, 3.5 go to 4.0) I don't know exactly what chevy uses but i
know the 3.42 rings a bell as does 3.27 i think. Lower gear give you a
better feel.

Next up on the list is probably exhaust, put a dual on. Could also go
headers at the same time.

Definitely add a K&N filter, filtercharger preferably or build you own cold
air intake.

You can assuredly do heads, cam, throttle body, but quite involved.

Supercharger will give you the biggest bang, also the most expensive. But
its an easy way to go.

I think your best bet would be a cam & FIPK. The exhaust system isn't
that restrictive for the V-6 so the cam & FIPK should be a better boost.
Check the Fiero groups for mods to the 60 degree v-6s (2.8,3.1, 3.4) and
go from there. Also consider changing rear end ratios. On my 3rd gen
w/2.8L going from 3.43? to 4.11 looked to increase acceleration and top
end with only a 500 rpm difference at cruising speeds on the highway.

i have had alot of experience with the 3.4 the best bang fro the buck is the
jet pcm. but an even better bang for the buck is offered by the chevy dealer
they have a performance program and a z-code that they are fixing to put on my
freinds 94 3.4 it is like 80 bucks but then agian we are freinds with the
dealer and all the techs there. go o a gm perormance parts dealer and ask them
about it. if they know nothing then tell them to call Scoggin Dickey and ask
them about it a guy in the preformace department Nathan (don't remimber his
last name) is doing it for my freind. Where do you live? If not tell them to
ask for Cary Franklin in the parts department but he is a very busy guy so
don't call him unless you have to. pulleys help alot on that car get a 97 air
intake cut the filter box so you have a ring arround the filter to seal it and
an exposed pannel filter. I do not recomend gears alone but a posi and gears is
a good idea. stay conservative go with 3.73's ok then get some headers and full
exhaust and a cam.

Am I the only person who found this post hard to follow? <shrug>... I
actually followed through the whole thing, because my girl has a '95 3.4L
5-speed... I think Quick305 has some really good information here, but I
find it difficult to know exactly what he's talking about.
