Still trying to debug my tachometer ('91 M3)... does anyone know a good
source for pinouts for the 26-pin connectors that connect to the instrument
cluster, or for the "diagnostic" connector on the front of the instrument
cluster? Neither my Haynes or Koala E30 M3 manuals are very helpful--one
diagram in the Haynes seems to suggest that the tach signal is on "pin 9 of
C101", the Koala suggests that the Yellow connector is for the tach, but
I've only found a tach signal on Pin 7 of the Blue connector. Already tried
replacing the SI battery board, but that didn't help, and no obvious bad
joints in the cluster. With no pinouts, I still can't tell if the problem
is internal to the cluster or not...
thanks for any suggestions!

if this helps anyone else, someone sent me this link:

(the pages are in russian but it's not too hard to find the wiring diagrams,
which are in english)

I would guess that stuff is probably in violation of some sort of copyright,
but hey it's in Russia... ;)
