Hello,

I have just bought a '88 320iC and I have the brake pad warning light
continuously red on the dashboard.

I check both brake pads sensors, front left and rear right and every things
looks OK.
I replace the sensor with an ordinary wire, just in case of a defective
sensor but the light was still red.

So, what is the problem ?
I would appreciate any help.

There are a number of different brake warning lights. Have you checked the
owner's manual to see which fault light it is? Usually the pad warning light
flickers rather than just stays on, unless it's a sensor wire short
circuited somewhere.

The brake fluid level has a separate warning light. If the fluid level is
OK, it could be a faulty float sensor. Disassembling the sensor and cleaning
it is usually all it takes to fix it.

If you have ABS there will be another brake warning light for that. And
there is a separate warning light for the brake lights.

Hello,

There is a lose resistor on the back of the dash pod.
