I'm trying to find an aftermarket moonroof. anyone know where I can get
one?

thinking about this option...

how does cutting a hole in the orig sunroof to use as a frame, and putting a
piece of tinted autoglass into the cut-out sound?

sounds like a good idea... I think I'll go get a junkyard sunroof, and try
that... then create a sliding inside cover for it... if that doesn't fit,
maybe I'll just use velcro?i dunno

What do you think?

Anyone in the southern CA, Pasadena area wanna help?

Why aftermarket?

Why not factory? Sure to be one in a bone yard somewhere.

Not from the factory, but there was a dealer fitted, genuine BMW accessory
glass roof for E23, E24, E28 and E30 cars. By "factory", I meant genuine,
made for the car, by BMW.

http://www.beebecomm.com/bmw/m3/passengerside.jpg This image shows one
fitted to an E30 M3. This is a genuine BMW roof panel, it is not some
aftermarket item.

Thats a cool roof do you have a BMW part number for retrofitting this
in my car?

I already have the factory fitted sunroof so I won't need to cut the
roof. Also my roof is a manually opperated one, if this matters.

The moon roof is no longer available from BMW. The last version they had
was for the E28 and it had a massive price reduction in 95 to clear the last
of the stock.

Only hope now is a junk yard or an aftermarket. At least one of the
aftermarket stores, like Bavarian or bmp, has a moon roof but it does not
have the privacy shield like the BMW version.

Hi,

Thanks fro the info, however I doubt that I'll ever get one now that
you say it is discontinued. I live in ireland and that kind of thing
would have been rare as a fitted option (before or after purchase).

Anyone out there know of a dealer that is holding some stock (for the
moon roof)?

Do the places you mention (Bavarian and Bmp) have web sites? and are
they US based?
If they are is there any europe based companys that would carry this
'roof'?

Thanks again.
