Hi Folks

If you have an FTP client and want to download the 2 x CD NERO images
try my FTP server:

challenger.no-ip.info

DO NOT put "ftp://" in front

THey are 435Mb TIS.nrg and 635Mb TIS.nrg
Cover everything from bikes & cars from '76 - 2001 inc MINI

Good luck but don't try if using dial-up 56K modem unless you can
afford it - try to use DSL

Thanks a bunch. I got the ETK disc when it was posted but I didn't get
enough of the TIS disc to reassemble. I'm downloading it now (cable
modem) and appreciate you putting it up. The ETK should be more
usefull with the TIS disc (right?)...

Any clues please?

I am splitting the CD files into RAR files @ 20Mb each or

There are other bits on the site like FSRaid and WinRAR 3.0 to unpack

I will also put more STUFF on there as and when??? and you can give

Just change to "incomming" and upload....

If you download the image files TIS.nrg & EKT.nrg then you will only

I've loaded both onto my HD. I found the searching time off CD rather
boring. Of course, the PC side of this machine is only a 586 - modern
machines and drive interfaces may not be so slow.

After running setup of ETK it still does not appear in my Start-Programs,
and I'm not able to run it directly. Any tips on installation?

I get an error message, "Unable to find Setup.ins"

This was while trying to install the ETK from Amer subdirectory.

I've successfully downloaded the images.
The Mobile Tradition part seems to start with the 1956 Isetta. Although the
Veterans are all listed under the vehicle type selection, there seems to be
no actual data on them
The same seems to be the case with the Mini: all part search buttons are
grayed out if you select Mini as the Marque.
Do I need a separate ETK database for the Mini?
On the other hand, complete Mini repair manual is available on the TIS CD.

Any hints on this?

No apologies Hugh! You are being the nice guy to help and clearly being
taken advantage of.
I was looking around the web for diffeernt servers wondering if different
values couldn't be plugged in...lack of activity (guys going to bed), lack
of bandwidth (on dial up), number of connections (sucking more than 1 thing
at a time) to help control the flood to your doorsteps.
I even got to thinking ...how would I do this? With my limited bandwidth
setting the mumber of users is the easiest to say ohhh 5 users. This would
increase bandwidth for each user hopefully reducing connection time but at
the same time could be rustrating trying to get a connection.

Hugh you've been awful nice. It's too bad other creeps muck up the works.

It's in the PUB directory. Make sure you are not using passive FTP

Ive done this recently & this is how to do it if your CDs arent corrupt -

run <cd drive lettter>\win95\bmw\etk\setup.exe

this install the admin s/w.

Then press the Windows Start - progs - bmw95 - sysadm
You need to do this to load both the ETK & TIS
Choose EPC - install (installs the ETK)
Put your TIS CD in the drive - choose TIS - install (installs the TIS)

Start - progs - bmw95 will now have TIS & ETK options

They need the CDs in the drive to run. If you have 2 CD readers, you can use
both at the same time by changing the drive config in the sysadm.

I bought my CD copies from Ebay for £10 rather than ages to download. Email me
if you want a copy of both for a fiver at

I have both CDs - purchased off a guy I found on Ebay (paid $30 USD incl.
shipping).
The ETK program allows for zooming into the graphic images to take a closer
look at the parts.

When I zoom to 2x or 4x, there is a horizontal scroll bar to move the image
left to right. But there is no VERTICAL scroll bar to move the image up and
down.

I downloaded the ETK CD provided to see if this problem was corrected, as I
need to be able to move around the image (vertically in addition to
horizontally) when in 2x or 4x zoom mode.

Unfortunately, when I try to install the ETK CD from the sysadmin menu, it
asks for an 'initialization password'. Anyone have this password it asks
for?

I have noticed that quite a few people have been able to download
the files but quite a few people are trying to use passive mode FTP.
If I have time over the weekend, I'll look into allowing access for
passive mode FTP through my system but until then you need to turn it

I bought the 3 CD set on Ebay last year, and a note on the bottom of the
instructions stated that if you were reinstalling or installing a newer
version you MUST uninstall any previous version including removal of any
directories before you install the new version. If you don't, it would ask
you for a password. ;)

successfully, except that only the ETK part is now in English, the TIS is still
