If you have an FTP client and want to download the 2 x CD NERO images
try my FTP server:
DO NOT put "ftp://" in front
THey are 435Mb TIS.nrg and 635Mb TIS.nrg
Cover everything from bikes & cars from '76 - 2001 inc MINI
Good luck but don't try if using dial-up 56K modem unless you can
afford it - try to use DSL

Any chance you could ZIP the files (Even with DSL there gonna take a while)?
IIRC, you need another CD for this.

You can get the zip files from, IIRC, www.318is.de .
Scott
just use this <challenger.no-ip.info> without the <> and log in as
anonymous - no password.
Due to bandwidth restrictions I am only allowing 10 persons at a time
- SORRY!
What I will do is to split the CDs into smaller rar files and you can
download in bits and re-assembel when you have the lot.
BTW this is on my own computer at home not some fantastic mega
gigabyte server in California just an AMD 1700+ running in West Sussex
in the UK...with an ADSL connection.

Hi There "someone else"
Thanks for that - can you / will you contact me off-list by e-mail?
For anybody else --------------
I am splitting the CD files into RAR files @ 20Mb each or
there-a-bouts to make life easier.
There are other bits on the site like FSRaid and WinRAR 3.0 to unpack
the files once you have them.
I will also put more STUFF on there as and when??? and you can give
back things if you feel obliged to!
Just change to "incomming" and upload....

Hi
You will need a CD burner, Nero CD burning software (on the site)
WinRAR to unpack the arcives (on the site) and - if you have any
missing data you will need FSRaid to reconstruct the split file data
(on the site).
If you download the image files TIS.nrg & EKT.nrg then you will only
need a CD burner and Nero.
Hugh

I've loaded both onto my HD. I found the searching time off CD rather
boring. Of course, the PC side of this machine is only a 586 - modern
machines and drive interfaces may not be so slow.

I got it and was hoping to have it up for FTP already but I haven't
been home long enough. Will try to get it done (again) tonight and
post the link here...
I get an error message, "Unable to find Setup.ins"
This was while trying to install the ETK from Amer subdirectory.
Thanks

I've successfully downloaded the images.
The Mobile Tradition part seems to start with the 1956 Isetta. Although the
Veterans are all listed under the vehicle type selection, there seems to be
no actual data on them
The same seems to be the case with the Mini: all part search buttons are
grayed out if you select Mini as the Marque.
Do I need a separate ETK database for the Mini?
On the other hand, complete Mini repair manual is available on the TIS CD.
Any hints on this?
Priit
Sorry Tom!
I've tried my best to help out!
If I let any more than 10 on at one time the bandwidth is ridiculous.
Some guys are greedy trying more than two connections and then there
are the jerks that go to bed and leave their machine connected when
the download has finished thus blocking others.
Every AM I have to kick at least 3 off and tonite another 4.....

Going from memory now....
TIS CD - Win95 - BMW- ENGL- SETUP.EXE
Or something like that tree. THe system admin has to be installed
first and then it asks if you want to install the other CDs

Setup is unable to locate the script file <WIN95\BMW\ETK\ENGL\SETUP.INS>
which is needed to complete the installation.

run <cd drive lettter>\win95\bmw\etk\setup.exe
this install the admin s/w.
Then press the Windows Start - progs - bmw95 - sysadm
You need to do this to load both the ETK & TIS
Choose EPC - install (installs the ETK)
Put your TIS CD in the drive - choose TIS - install (installs the TIS)
Start - progs - bmw95 will now have TIS & ETK options
They need the CDs in the drive to run. If you have 2 CD readers, you can use
both at the same time by changing the drive config in the sysadm.
I bought my CD copies from Ebay for £10 rather than ages to download. Email me
if you want a copy of both for a fiver at

When I zoom to 2x or 4x, there is a horizontal scroll bar to move the image
left to right. But there is no VERTICAL scroll bar to move the image up and
down.
I downloaded the ETK CD provided to see if this problem was corrected, as I
need to be able to move around the image (vertically in addition to
horizontally) when in 2x or 4x zoom mode.
Unfortunately, when I try to install the ETK CD from the sysadmin menu, it
asks for an 'initialization password'. Anyone have this password it asks
for?

It is there------------- or should be as it has worked for some of the
guys that have downloaded it.....
Go to that folder and run from there
TIS - win95 - BMW - TIS? - engl - setup.exe
Hugh
Wasn't needed when I installed it.

I have noticed that quite a few people have been able to download
the files but quite a few people are trying to use passive mode FTP.
If I have time over the weekend, I'll look into allowing access for
passive mode FTP through my system but until then you need to turn it
off.

I bought the 3 CD set on Ebay last year, and a note on the bottom of the
instructions stated that if you were reinstalling or installing a newer
version you MUST uninstall any previous version including removal of any
directories before you install the new version. If you don't, it would ask
you for a password. ;)
