Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience to me?
I purchased my 147 1.6 Lusso in November. Two days after I received it
a message appeared on the dash: Motor Control System Failure. I was
obviously a bit concerned so took the car to my local dealer, where
they stated that the car needed a new coil. They replaced this, but
unfortunately the problem reoccured. Since then, the dealer has had
the car four times, have been in contact with Alfa UK technical, and
have taken the head off to allegedly replace a faulty inlet valve.
This morning the problem happened again and I am rapidly starting to
lose my patience.
I have been in contact with Alfa UK but their customer service is the
most appalling I have ever dealt with, the staff not seeming to care
at all. The dealer in question has all but admitted that they don't
know how to fix this problem, so I am at a bit of a loss as to what to
do next. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this (or a
similar) problem?
The 147 is the first Alfa I have owned, and it is a lovely car, but
this problem and the way it has been dealt with is starting to taint
my view of Alfa unfortunately.

Had a new battery installed last week and haven't had any probs since (but
will check over the next few weeks). The battery turned out to be duff - it
wouldn't hold charge.
Not an obvious cause but check the battery anyway

Was it one of those batteries with the charge indicator in the top
that turns green if it's ok? If so, what colour was it?
